"No need too, I didn't feel an apology was needed... RL things happen... and I am appreciative to receive the title."

A little birdie informed Regal this was your first time on the runway. With your first experience on the runway and choosing it to be in the April's Regal Runway Styling Challenge, what did you think of it?

"I was nervous about entering at all, since I haven't done anything like this before. However, once I got into it, I found it was a lot of fun. I like challenges, and I felt this challenged me to step outside my comfort zone, which is a good thing. The entire experience taught me a lot of things, and I met some really great people within the Regal family. All-in-all, I was both humbled and inspired by the entire experience. I also learned the difference between a runway style card, and a blog style card...lol. Always a good thing to know!"

What was your first thought upon seeing the theme of Most Influential People Who've Impacted Humankind?

"I was excited about it...because we all have heroes, or people we admire. So, for me, choosing someone I felt was influential, and impacted humankind, was great. The hard part was narrowing it down to one.  I thought the theme was fun, and it gave us all a chance to honor someone that has been an influence in our world"

What did you think of your fellow challengers you've compete against for the title of Reigning Champion?

"Well, I am married to one of them...lol. I thought Dandy's choice for the contest was so true to who he is...and RuPaul is a beautiful tribute to the fluidity of gender within all of us.  I loved Dakota's styling as well. She did a fabulous job of capturing Walt Disney, and was very creative in how she handled the styling. I enjoyed meeting her and all the people I worked with during the event, were exceptional...friendly, helpful, and outgoing."

How do you feeling knowing your first time on the runway lead to winning the title of Reigning Champion?

"That is a good question. I never expected to win. I participated for the experience, the challenge, and the fun of the whole thing. I thought it would be a learning experience, but I never expected to win. So, honestly, I feel quite humbled by the win."

With your first step taken on the runway, what are your future goals as a model?

"I'm not sure.  I am attending Regal modeling classes now, and enjoying it very much. In all the years I've been in SL...all the years I've designed clothing...I've admired runway and print models. Their ability to take an outfit or theme, and style something spectacular, just amazes me. I've never believed I had that kind of creativity or talent.  So, my future goals as a model is simply to learn what I can and attempt to be the best I can be at modeling.  I'm not sure I will actively pursue an SL modeling career, but I like knowing that it's a possibility down the road."

"David Bowie is back, as Kaid Hawker takes to the runway in Redgrave's Jacob Skin and Ikon's Arabian Deep Blue eyes,  Bowie was known for his fashion flare and pushing boundaries, and Kaid honors that by wearing Bakaboo's Baka Suit 2 Jacket, with it's mesh of glided colors and patterns. This shirt, tie, jacket, and vest combo is both edgy and saucy.

Complimenting the jacket is Riot's Syrio Leggings, in Nautical. These form-hugging pants add more than a little sass and sexiness to an outfit, and certainly scream, "Bowie! Bowie! Bowie!"

Rounding out the look are Mesh Platform Ankle Boots, in Teal, from Kaid's own store, Hawker's House. These platform boots capture Bowie's love of fashion, and flare for pushing boundaries.

Bowie is probably best known for his dramatic hair styles and colors, and none more iconic than his bright red spiked do. Kaid chose Dura's Emo Hair in Cherry to immolate Bowie's famous locks. Left longer on the bottom, and cut short and spikey on top, it's a perfect choice for our Bowie look.

 Of course, Bowie wouldn't be Bowie without a touch of makeup to round out the effect. Kaid is wearing Pink Acid's Photo Studio Blush in red, and Glamorize Revolver Pink Combo Lips. Of course, the blue eye shadow is an earmark of Bowie's 'Is There Life on Mars' look, and it's captured here with Glamorize Glitter and Glow Eye Makeup in Turquoise.

 Kaid completes his tribute to Bowie by carrying Dynamic's mic, and opting for Verocity Rock poses.

This ensemble is Kaid Hawker's version of David Bowie, capturing the star's vitality, sass, spunk, edginess, and flare for drama, both on-stage and off."

Transfer of the Reigning Champion Title!

Regal would like to officially announce the transfer of the Reigning Champion title from Dakota Lavarock to Kaid Hawker.

This changing of title was due to a Regal scoring error and because of this, Dakota will retain the 5000 lindens given at the April’s Runway Styling Challenge on April 28, 2018 as a consolation prize. Our new reigning Champion Kaid Hawker will receive the reign champion title, professional photo shoot, picture displayed at Regal ModelIng Academy & Agency, 50% off enrollment at Regal Modeling Academy, and 5000 lindens prize.

"Welcome Dandy Coveria-Hawker to the runway, as he pays tribute to drag queen legend RuPaul. Dandy has captured RuPaul's iconic look by wearing Wow's Ahlam Skin, and MADesigns PROMISE eyes.

Of course, RuPaul wouldn't be RuPaul without his legendary makeup. Dandy has augmented his ensemble with Glamorize Cold Kiss Lips in Dacadent, A.S.S. Drama Shadow in Plum, and Oil Body.  He's also recreated RuPaul's iconic blonde look with TRUTH's Imani hair. This beautiful updo adds both style and elegance to any outfit.

No true drag queen look is complete without a little sparkle and shine, Dandy chose Swallow Chic earrings and Ring, Lyla's Deluxe Mesh Nails Valentine, as well as Leo's Gold Necklace with chains to add that little extra touch of pizzazz!

Of course, the gown makes the woman, and that is definitely the case when you're morphing from male to female, and what better choice than Hawker's House Dandy Diva Caped Gown, in Plum. With it's tailored lines, empress waistline augmented with black beading, and semi-sheer cape, it adds a touch of Cinderella to the look and feel of Dandy's RuPaul ensemble.

To round out his look, Dandy chose EC's Butterfly Crown Tarragon,  Epic Butterfly Buddies, and Chalis Butterfly Aura Summer Storm. Like butterflies transforming from caterpillar to a unique and breath-taking butterfly, RuPaul--and Dandy--morph from a simple man, into a stunningly beautiful woman."

Dandy Coveria-Hawker (andrijiko coveria) as RuPaul Andre Charles

"Everyone needs someone to look up to...we all have idols that influence our lives, but few influence our very self-image in positive ways, RuPaul Andre Charles is one of those iconic few. RuPaul is an American drag queen, actor, model, singer, songwriter, author, and television personality. His reality competition series, RuPaul's Drag Race, received two Primetime Emmy Awards in 2016 and 2017. RuPaul is said to be the most commercially successful drag queen in America, and he was one of Time's list of 100 of the most influential people in the world. As a gay man, I've struggled with my self-image, and with understanding the delicate balance of my personal expression. In my mind, RuPaul embodies that fluidity, and validates the beauty and fluidity of the spirit inside each perfect human being. Each human, both male and female, have and express aspects of both genders, in different ways. It is only in recent years that American society is coming to embrace the beauty of both...in every person. RuPaul has most certainly influenced that growth and openness, and validated those of us who've struggled with not fitting into the boxed image that has dominated our world."

"Is there Life on Mars? If anyone has the answer to that question, it's David Bowie...or perhaps Kaid Hawker, as he pays tribute to the iconic rocker. When we think of influential people, there are many legends, but none more dramatic and memorable than David Bowie.  An English singer, songwriter, and actor, Bowie was incredibly influential in popular music for over five decades. He's been acclaimed by peers for his innovative work, and his career was earmarked by reinvention and visual presentation. He is one of the world's best-selling music artists, and in the UK, was awarded 9 platinum album certifications, 11 gold, and eight silver. He released 11 number-one albums. In the U.S,, Bowie received 5 platinum and 9 gold certificates, and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996. For more than half a century, Bowie impacted the world as a musician, actor, artist, and icon. He influenced music, art, and fashion. "Influential people.  Much could be said on this subject.  There are bad influences, and there are good influences.  Dakota prefers to shine her spotlight on the good. Some of the most influential people the world has ever known are artists.  They are opinion leaders and trend setters.  Where the artist goes, others follow.  Some artists have short careers, other have much longer careers, and one such artist is Mister Walt Disney. Walt Disney was born on December 5, 1901 and left his life behind on December 15, 1966, after 65 years of contributions to mankind.  His name is a household word in countries around the world, and his classic movies and characters are known by sight by young and old alike. There are very few who have not seen at least one of Walt Disney’s movies, and he produced many movies, from one of his first movies, the animated Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in 1937, to following animated classics such as Bambi in 1942, Lady and the Tramp in 1955, and 101 Dalmations in 1961.  In addition, Mister Disney produced many non-animated classics, as well, such as The Absent-Minded Professor in 1961 and Mary Poppins in 1964. In fact, so fantastic are his movies that Mister Disney holds the record for most Academy Awards earned by an individual, with 22 Oscars and 59 nominations. "Dakota’s mermaid body parts and belt are from Jomo’s Female Naga set.  Her Little Mermaid Bra Pink is by FDD Stories.

Dakota’s accessories include Kio Kio’s Rare Oceanid Deluxe Bindi and also Starfish Kisses that she wears in her hair and on her cheek.  Also, in her hair, she is wearing Hextraordinary’s Teapot Hermit Crab with animation.  Her Shell Earrings in gold are from Amala.  Her adorable sand dollar Marlena Necklace 1 is from Tantalum, and Cae provides her Starfish Bracelets.

What did you enjoy most about Regal's Runway Styling Challenge?

"Well, honestly, I loved the fact that it was so well organized, which allowed it to run quite smoothly. We all knew what to do, when to do it. I also really appreciated the work that went into making the lovely fairy-tale set."

Your fairy tale of choice was the Little Mermaid, was there a certain reason behind choosing this fairy tale and if so, why?

"I think mermaids are beautiful and graceful, uniquely different, and I wanted to portray that on the runway.  The story of The Little Mermaid as originally written by Hans Christian Anderson is a sad, bitter-sweet story, and I enjoyed sharing a glimpse of that story with others.

In that story, she is not a child, but a young woman of marriageable age who falls in love with a prince, and longs to belong to the world up above. She gets legs, which will always hurt her to walk, in exchange for giving up her voice. She must make the prince love her and marry her, or she will turn into sea foam and cease to exist. The prince marries someone else. The Little Mermaid's heart is broken, and, as she waits to die in the morning, her sisters bring her a knife. If she will kill the prince and let his blood drop on her feet, she will once again become a mermaid and live out her life in the sea. But, she cannot bring herself to kill the prince.  In the morning, she throws herself and the knife into the sea.  But, instead of ceasing to exist, she turns into an ethereal spirit and rises up into the air. So, even though she did not win the prince, she was rewarded for her goodness, instead of ceasing to exist. It is a wonderful story, I think."

How does it feel to be the Reigning Champion of Regal's Runway Style Challenge?

"Oh, my goodness!  It does really feel fantastic!  I honestly did not think I would win it, so when I did, I was completely amazed!  I have been walking on clouds ever since! The competitors were incredibly talented, and I knew I would have to put up a good fight!  I can't wait until April, when I will have to defend my title!"

What would you like to say to the next challengers who'll be going against you in April?

"Hee, hee.  I would challenge them to do their very best, to make it a really great competition, and, to take the title IF they can! Additionally, on a more serious level, I would like to let them know that this is a very-well organized, professional competition, one that they will enjoy. The people they will work with are very kind, generous, thoughtful, and helpful.  It will be a very thrilling and fun experience."

Sheila is inspired by this tale, "The Sleeping Beauty", and personifies Maleficent. Her outfit consists of a black and tight dress, mix and match with 2 outfits by Lamu Fashion, inlaid with glittered white sequins and with a silk stripe worked on the breast and waistline and a mermaid skirt which extends along the legs, with glitter and spiderweb embroidery veils. She also wears black gloves, high-heeled shoes by N-Core and some accessories such as an headpiece with black/white flowers and horns, a magic staff and a black collar around her neck that widens in a half-pleated "gorgiere".
